Joe joined in 2013, a few months after FSD Africa was created. He is now Director of Strategy and Advocacy; leading on its fragile states portfolio, corporate strategy, corporate communications, and the FSD Network – a family of 11 financial sector development agencies across Africa.   

He has lived in Nairobi and Kigali, worked across the continent, and enjoys the challenge of finding new ways of working, especially where the need is greatest. He holds a B.A. in Geography and an M.Phil. in Development Studies and has previously worked as a Policy Advisor at the OECD in Paris and as a Secondee to DFID’s Investment and Finance team in London.
