FSD Africa’s Regulatory Support Programme is a continent-wide initiative designed to support capital market regulators to attain international standards. The two-and-a-half-year programme provides funding to build the capacity of capital market regulators across sub-Saharan Africa, providing world-class technical assistance, encouraging closer collaboration among regulators and conducting research to support the development of new policies and regulations.
Through this multi-country programme, we’re funding capacity assessments to review the internal operations of individual regulators and to identify areas that require support. We’re also supporting the development of Capital Markets Masterplans, that will outline the actions needed to develop the sector and broaden access to long-term finance.
The programme also has a knowledge management and peer learning workstream focusing on the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) standards, sustainable finance and equity listings.
