The African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA), established in 1993, is an association of 27 Securities Exchanges in Africa. The Association works closely with member exchanges to unlock the potential of the African Capital Markets and the African economies they serve. It does so through training and capacity building, and by providing an authoritative information portal on African public markets.
FSD Africa is providing technical assistance to the ASEA to achieve two key objectives. First, to improve ASEA’s information database, so that it can act as a central resource for investors searching for information on African capital markets. Second, we’re working with ASEA to build the capacity of African securities exchanges by providing support for the annual ASEA conference and a pre-conference technical workshop.
FSD Africa also supports the ASEA secondment programme, a 3-year programme aimed at building capacity at the secretariat to help it to achieve its developmental agenda and to share knowledge between member exchanges.
