Project description

Establish a twinning arrangement between the UK and Kenyan/East African/African academic institutions to provide climate finance training to develop the capacity of local and regional policymakers, academia, regulators and financial market participants.

Target Results

  • Development of the capacity of policymakers, academia, regulators, training service providers and financial sector professionals on climate finance
  • Increased investments into climate-resilient projects, which lead to sustainable economic growth and employment creation
  • Creation of a centre of excellence in green finance in the region

Progress to date

  • Unlocking public climate finance for sustainable business transformation

Training delivered to the first cohort of 22 participants across Africa from 6th to 10th  December 2021.

  • The Africa Climate Finance Leadership Programme

Training delivered to the second cohort of 22 participants across Africa from 7th to 11th  February 2022.

  • The Africa Climate Finance Leadership Programme

Training will be delivered to the third cohort of participants in the last quarter of the 2022 calendar year.
