Kenneth Petersen is a senior Programme and Project Management professional with more than 20 years of experience leading complex business transformation, digital innovation, and enterprise technology programmes across financial services, insurance, retail, and fintech sectors throughout Africa. He has successfully delivered large-scale strategic initiatives for multinational organisations, managing cross-functional teams, executive stakeholders, and multi-country programme portfolios that improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and financial inclusion.
Kenneth has extensive experience delivering digital transformation programmes involving enterprise platforms, cloud technologies, policy administration systems, customer engagement solutions, payments modernisation, and business process optimisation. Throughout his career, he has led programmes for organisations including Old Mutual, Momentum Metropolitan, PPS, Woolworths Financial Services, Equisoft, Falcorp Technologies, and Sedna, providing leadership across programme governance, PMO establishment, strategic planning, vendor management, business analysis, organisational change management, and executive reporting.
Most recently, Kenneth served as a Senior Project Manager Consultant to Financial Sector Deepening Africa (FSD Africa) through Outsized, supporting the launch of the Accelerating Financial Resilience and Insurance for Young African Women in Agrifood Systems (AFIYA) programme. In this role, he developed the integrated multi-country delivery plan across eight African countries, established programme governance and delivery rhythms, coordinated stakeholder engagement, evaluated programme management platforms, contributed to communications planning, and developed the programme’s initial risk management framework to support successful implementation.
Kenneth combines strong commercial acumen with deep technical knowledge of enterprise technologies including Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA), AWS cloud platforms, Alfresco, AgilePoint, SnapLogic, Jaspersoft, SAP, Jira, Azure DevOps, and modern Agile delivery frameworks. His experience spans both consulting and client-side leadership roles, enabling him to align technology delivery with strategic business objectives while building high-performing teams and fostering collaborative stakeholder relationships.
He is currently completing an MBA in Strategic Management and Financial Services together with a Master’s in Big Data and Business Intelligence, complementing his Postgraduate Diploma in Information Systems from University of Cape Town and Advanced Diploma in Project Management from Cranefield College. Kenneth is passionate about leveraging digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision-making to accelerate organisational transformation, strengthen financial inclusion, and deliver sustainable business outcomes across Africa.
