Rodney Carew has over a decade of experience building and scaling impact-focused initiatives across Africa. He has partnered with investors, development organisations, and early-stage ventures to design innovative financing mechanisms, mobilise capital, and provide strategic support to companies driving climate and economic resilience.

 Most recently, Rodney was Chief of Staff and Head of Investor Relations at Delta40 Venture Studio, where he led capital raising, managed investor relationships, and supported firm-wide strategy while helping launch and scale a portfolio of climate tech ventures across Africa. Rodney has also held leadership roles at Africa-focused investment organisations including BESTSELLER Foundation, Factor[e] Ventures, and Equator Africa. As Platform Director at Factor[e] and Equator, he led post-investment support for more than 30 climate technology ventures, built portfolio management systems, and established partnerships to drive value creation and accelerate portfolio growth.

Earlier in his career, Rodney spent 8 years at Open Capital Advisors where he launched and led the firm’s Southern Africa office. As a Principal at OCA, he led engagements in East, West, and Southern Africa for businesses, investors, and development partners across a variety of sectors including agriculture, renewable energy, financial services, and healthcare. He began his career as a consultant with Wipro in the U.S., advising Fortune 500 companies on business restructuring and IT strategy.

Rodney holds an MSc in Management from Wake Forest University and a BA in Political Science and International Studies from Northwestern University.
