Norika Salih

Manager, Nature Programmes

Norika joins FSD Africa with over seven years of experience in sustainable finance, climate and nature-related policy, and multilateral negotiations across the public and private sectors in Europe and East Africa. She combines a legal background with a strong track record of translating environmental finance policy into practical, real-sector outcomes.

Norika began her career in environmental policy at the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, where she progressed to Senior EU and International Sustainability Policy Officer. She was the Netherlands’ lead negotiator at the fifth United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) in Nairobi in 2022 on the resolution establishing an international agreement on plastic pollution. Earlier in her career, she developed a climate diplomacy strategy for the Netherlands Embassy in Accra, Ghana, and taught international and European law at Leiden University.

Norika holds a Master’s degree in International and European Law (summa cum laude) from Radboud University Nijmegen, as well as Bachelor’s degrees in European Law from Radboud University Nijmegen and Criminology from Erasmus University Rotterdam. She has been a Certified Expert in Sustainable Finance through the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management since 2025.
